Hua Chenyu sharing his creative inspiration at Mars Concert 2021, before releasing this song for the first time
The song I sang just now, I wrote it this year, as the first part of the Healing Trilogy.
I also call it the “Struggling Chapter”.
Only one-third of the story behind this song was told yesterday.
I haven’t finished it.
So I’m going to talk about my second story.
It took place after “I Really Want Myself Back (AKA Searching for Myself)”.
Actually, when I was writing my first song, It was exactly like what the song describes.
I was in a lot of pain, and I was struggling.
I was also very conflicted at the same time.
But then I gradually started to …
Well, I found a way to ease my pain.
You probably know that I’m a homebody, right?
You know, I was a homebody growing up.
I was a super homebody before I started my career.
Then it got even more so after my debut.
I would seclude myself at home.
And lived a repetitive life.
When I had something on my mind.
Or when I encountered some painful things.
It was difficult to jump out (of that feeling).
Until one day, Erjie, Zhang Xinyi, you know her.
I don’t know if you remember, but one time, I was doing live streaming
Voice streaming.
Well, I think it was in 2019, That night we were on the air.
I was at home.
I said, “Erjie asked me to go bike riding at night after the live-streaming session”.
Do you remember?
Actually, it was the first time that I ever went bike riding at night.
I had never ridden a bike at night before.
Erjie suddenly asked me to go bike riding that night.
She and Yuan Hong, my “brother-in-law”.
Then Erjie and my “brother-in-law” - the two of them were so cute - they came to me riding shared bikes.
After I went down.
They showed me how to scan my code and how to set it up, and then the three of us went on a long nighttime bike ride.
That day made me feel really relaxed.
That night, I had a good sleep, which I hadn’t had for a long time.
Then, after that, I realized that I kind of like it that way.
Because on that day, when I was on the bike.
Nothing was going through my mind.
There wasn’t any, you know, the experience of thinking about bad things.
I was just fully enjoying the fresh air.
The wind was blowing, and I was riding the bike. It was very comfortable.
So I started riding my bike by myself a lot.
To look around, yeah.
And then I started liking this way of life.
I would often go out alone.
Take a walk, walk on the street, Have some food, Find a little bar and drink a bit.
Sometimes I would go to a Japanese food place.
By the night, all the guests would have left.
The boss and I, just the two of us, would open a bottle of sake.
We would sit there, talking and drinking all night.
We actually didn’t know each other.
But I felt it was kind of fun.
And then, probably, probably.
What I’ve told you may seem quite normal to a lot of people.
It’s kind of a normal thing to do.
Actually, what I’m trying to say is that.
To me, this is very different.
It actually changed the way of life I’d had since childhood.
When I started to change my way of life.
I started to feel like, This world is quite nice.
So I slowly worked my way out of my struggles.
I jumped out of it.
I tried to live and live well.
And I wrote down the state that I was in.
Today, I want to sing this song.
This is part two of my Healing Trilogy for Mars.
At the same time, I want to share this song with people who may have had the same experience as me.
I want you to know that,
If you are like me,
If you try a different way of life,
Maybe it’ll ease your pain a little bit.
So, next, the second part of the Healing Trilogy.
I call it the “Hope Chapter”, I gave it a very romantic name.
